Poor little sick girl

Well, for four solid weeks we had one sickness after the other. Usually I think of the winter as being the times when we are sick. But, year after year we seem to get hit pretty hard in the spring. The first week of March Cecily and I  had the stomach flu. Then we had a week where we were all well, and we had lots of fun during that week and were actually pretty busy (Pretty much all the pictures you see in my March posts happened that week!). Then we all got hit with the stomach flu. One by one we all went down. As Rosie put it, we took turns "spilling our tongues." The girls were sick first and then Rory and I got it.
Just as Rory and I were getting better the girls got colds. Rosie had a fever and hives with her cold. After a week of colds, just when I thought they were getting better.... attack of the ear infections.
Just as the antibiotics were taking affect, and I thought we were out of the woods.... Cecily came down with a really high fever. After a couple of days of fever her temp went down to a low grade and she broke out in this rash. The rash didn't stay for too long, but it went into her mouth. Her tongue was inflamed for a little over a week. She couldn't eat hardly anything. She was miserable and very whinny. (Come to think of it, I think I was too.) I took her to the doctor and he said she had a virus.  The week of the inflamed tongue -- Rosemary sprained her ankle.
So that is why we missed 5 weeks of church! In between fevers we took them outside as much as we could, just to get some fresh air! We are so ready for summer!
A look at her poor little rash.

Another weird thing was her nose and mouth peeled like crazy.

It is hard to know how to help an inflamed tongue. She wanted me to put a band-aid on it. Instead we tried a cold wash cloth.

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

What could be better than flying a kite in the spring? We really don't know?! I snagged these kites for $1.50 each and we took them down to the very windy Penrose Point. We had a very fun time watching them set sail! It was great to get some fresh air and some sunshine...even though it wasn't very warm at all!

Rosie really likes fish!

Cecily was doing some pretty fancy moves with her kite!

It was a little tricky keeping the kite out of the tree!

Rosie enjoyed some independent time walking along the trail by herself. All within our sites of course!

Before heading back home, we took a little time to dig in the sand!

Cecily found all sorts of treasures!

Ready and Waiting!

With the glowing Mommy in waiting!
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our newest niece or nephew-- expected the end of April or early  May. Genesis and Craig are waiting to find out the sex of the baby until the debut! It is so much fun! Genesis' friends threw her a beautiful shower. I think everyone who attended had a wonderful time! I think Baby C will have all that he/she needs and one this is for certain.... this baby is already loved!

Baby C already has an adorable onesie collection!

Roll'n with our homeys!

To celebrate our awesome friends Jeff and Charla's 30th Birthdays we got to go to a super fun skate party! (At the Civic Center) We had the best time rock'n and roll'n! It was fun to see the kids try it out too. It was also fun to see all our 30 year-old husbands prove they are still the boys we married with all sorts of stunts that landed them on the floor. Yes, I roller skated too. And I didn't fall and hurt my back....one thing I did a lot of in my glory days was roller skate!
(Side note: No one at the party had ever been to skate land... so I was left to reminisce on my own... especially when the couples skate came on!)

Afternoon with the Daffodil Princess

The Daffodils brightening up our yard.
Daffodils are special flowers around here. We always know it is time for Cecily's birthday when the Daffodils are up! I always love to see them out because it is the first clue that Spring is really coming. This past fall we planted 50 of them in our yard. It has been so wonderful to see them popping up!

This year we added some extra special daffodil fun to March when the girls got to meet the Daffodil Princess. When Rory saw that she was coming to our little Library to read stories-- he knew he had to take the girls. So off they went on their Daddy Daughter Day adventure.
Cecily wanted to bring a Daffodil from our yard to give to the Princess.

They definitely enjoyed meeting the princess. They wore their yellow dresses for the occasion. (Couldn't have been more perfect that Cecily had her new Belle dress!). They also really enjoyed their craft time! What a special day!
