The Car Seat

There comes a time in every mom's life when you have to upgrade the car seat. In talking to older women, this is a strange phenomenon, they barely strapped their kids in and didn't lose any sleep about it. Today's mommy loses a lot of sleep about two things... car seats and vaccinations. Well, it was my turn once again to tackle the car seat arena. The starting price of "the better ones" is generally in the $300 range (you can keep those prices climbing if you want "the best"). However, there are a few good seats out there in the $150 range that rival the top-rated models. I did my homework on Consumer Reports, tried to check around. It is generally agreed that Britax is the mainstream "safe" seat amongst moms. So I was hesitant when I found this seat (above) on diapers.com for 50% off. It was a $300 seat in my $150 price range-- marked down because it was last season's model. It got added points in the cute department, you usually have to pay more for pink. So, I called in a second opinion. My friend Sarah checked it out, and bought it for her daughter....which I would definitely call a stamp of approval.
Long story short... here is Rosemary in her 'big girl' convertible car seat, that she will use until she is 75 pounds... which could be most of her childhood and into her adult life (the girl is tiny).
The seat is made by Recaro. Thanks to all of you who make the seat possible by donating to the Birthday fund.
